God is real. He wants to have an intimate relationship with us and will encourage us to seek that with everything we have to offer. We are His beloved and He wants us to rest and revel in that as we grow in intimacy with Him. He speaks to us today and reveals Himself to us in a variety of ways but we must be tuned in to receive those signals.
There are so many places where I still struggle and trust is one of the many that continue to rear their heads repeatedly. This book like Brent Curtis and John Eldredge’s Sacred Romance, which this author quotes a number of times throughout her book, and Eldredge’s later work in collaboration with his wife Stasi – Captivating address this issue head on and with immense practicality. None of these books claim to be a cure all or provide a rote solution they do however present several tools and point the reader back to the Lord and His Word.
This book has come at a time when I feel adrift and I am realizing that I have allowed my focus to waver as well as stopped being aware and ready to take in what He offers if I were simply attuned to the proper signal.
I highly recommend this book and in fact would rate it in the vicinity of Captivating and The Five Love Languages for Singles. Both of these other books have been encouraging and important learning experiences for me as I suspect that this book will prove to be in the near future. I expect to revisit all of them in the coming months for refreshers on some of the concepts addressed. This book will join those other two on my keeper shelf of nonfiction titles.
I have two copies of this book to giveaway. See this post for details and leave a comment there to enter.
