The Wild Rose Press (November 21, 2008)
This book read quite quickly for a PDF and I didn’t want to stop midway though I did have to tear myself away for other things at a couple points in the reading process. The story is heartfelt and full of rural small town charm that seems to get more difficult to find in this day and age. Lucy and her family desperately want to save their family business which also happens to be the town paper from being crushed by a new Regional Paper with corporate muscle behind it. In light of that quest Lucy posted an ad in the paper for an editor to join the paper’s staff. Enter Joe, a Chicagoan looking for a change of pace and an escape from the city. He’s on a mission to find Lucy but not for the reason she thinks and the Editor position proves to be the perfect cover for his presence in Turtle Creek. Why is he really looking for Lucy?
With Christmas around the corner Lucy is also struggling over a broken engagement from a few years previous and with Joe’s presence her feelings start to stir once again. Can she find true love or will one of them sabotage things and continue to prove her poor track record in matters of the heart? What is God’s plan for her and will Joe and Lucy find the unconditional love only their heavenly Father can give by sharing that with each other in His power?
Read Robin’s lovely Holiday tale to meet Joe and Lucy and see how their stories play out in this installment. Once you open up the Christmas Edition I suspect you’ll be eagerly awaiting The Valentine Edition as I am. This next book is due out in Februrary just in time for the title holiday.
