Taylor, the resident bad girl is at it again in this second installment of Carter House Girls. This time around she is, of course, playing with fire in the form of chasing after the guys that are already tied down to another girl. In fact I suspect a few of the girls might even be tempted to change her name to Jezebel. Can they all survive this latest of Taylor’s escapades and learn to be friends despite her prickly attitude towards the world? Can Mrs Carter’s pet project and favorite boarder ever do any wrong or will it always be someone else’s fault or not worth bothering with?

Though I’m not a teen any longer I think girls will identify with these characters and the struggles they face as well as perhaps see a bit of themselves in one or more of these young women finding their way and discovering that relationships (even with friends) aren’t always a piece of cake in the real world. Come along with D J, Rhiannon, Casey, Eliza, Kriti and Taylor on their journeys of growth and faith in the Carter House Girls books. (ISBN#9780310714897, 224pp, $9.99)
